Hey. I just wanted to make sure everyone was on the same page with respect to new wood advertisers.

We have capped the number of wood sellers we are currently carrying to protect everyone's interests as much as possible, but as old advertisers choose not to participate we now have a waiting list of new wood sellers who want to join.

We will simply replace advertisers who drop off with those on the waiting list.

We are working hard to protect everyone's interests.

Doug Kleist dropped off and CFP came on. Just so you know

(I know I have to take Doug's banner ad down... that is a pain and I have to do it from the office. That will happen on Monday.)

Feel free to PM me if you have questions.

:-)

Sounds good Brock. It is a tight market for sure and now that the forum has over a 1000 members I am sure more advertisers will want in. But I think that you should choose those that add a little more to the community than just buying a banner. Being able to offer an insight into how some of these products get to these guys and being available to publicaly talk about products and practices will keep you unique. If it gets flooded with too many 'banners' with no one ever hearing from these guys I think it just commercializes the community. I try to add value to the site beyond what I spend for advertising. My too cents.

Shane

Shane, that was worth at LEAST three cents...

On another topic,

I find the blinking/switching ad of Ameritage's to be distracting.

Kidding....

But, didn't we put a stop to moving avatars and the like?

I want my ad to blink too!

I agree Shane. But some like StewMac and LMI purposefully take a low profile. So we judge them on a case by case basis.

I know others are reading constantly but prefer to remain in the shadows because they don't want to seem as if they are overtly marketing. Everyone has their own approach.

However, that said. I agree with you that we don't want to dilute the influence of our advertising by letting droves of new people who are in nose-to-nose competition in. Since we have a lot of wood sellers we have imposed a moratorium on new wood sellers.. From this point forward the only way a new wood seller gets in is for an existing wood seller to drop off.

But we are still accepting people from other areas. Ameritage was a good addition, and we are making efforts to contact Grizzly and Heritage too. I think they both would make excellent additions to our line up.
